Roaring Success: Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' Sets Box Office Ablaze
"Animal," starring Ranbir Kapoor, stormed into the Indian box office, amassing a whopping ₹337.58 crore within its opening week, primarily driven by a significant ₹300.81 crore from the Hindi market. Contributions from the Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam markets amounted to ₹2.73 crore, ₹52 lakh, and ₹7 lakh, respectively.
However, the film's performance took a downturn in its second week, with collections of Rs 13.85 crore, Rs 12.72 crore, Rs 10.25 crore, and Rs 8.75 crore over four days. Early estimates suggested a decline to around Rs 4.3 crore on Friday. The total collection in India after two weeks reached Rs 481.14 crore.
There's anticipation regarding "Animal" potentially entering the coveted Rs 500 crore club, facing minimal competition at present. Even upon its release alongside Vicky Kaushal’s "Sam Bahadur," "Animal" outperformed it significantly from day one. With Shah Rukh Khan’s "Dunki" and Prabhas starrer "Salaar" releasing soon, the film continues to draw audiences.
Globally, within its initial two weeks, "Animal" amassed a staggering ₹784.45 crore. Notably, Ranbir Kapoor becomes the first post-COVID Bollywood actor to deliver three consecutive movies grossing over Rs 100 crore in India. "Brahmastra" (2022) accumulated Rs 257 crore, followed by "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar" (2023) earning Rs 149 crore, and currently, "Animal" is a significant contributor to this successful streak.
